Welcome to Marchmont

The Marchmont Observatory is a research centre within the University of Exeter's College of Social Sciences and International Studies (CSSIS). Since 1998, the Marchmont Observatory has provided research and analysis to support the implementation of employment and skills policies and has worked with European programmes to develop innovative approaches to workforce development and social inclusion.

Marchmont has particular expertise in the fields of labour market analysis, monitoring and strategy development. Through our work as the provider of SLIM, we have extensive experience of both supporting the delivery of regional and sub-regional labour market strategies. We work closely Local Enterprise Partnerships and provide technical assistance for the effective targeting of the ESF Competitiveness Programme in South West England.
